Tarek is a prominent financier and banker who holds extensive experience of investment banking, including capital markets, structured finance, corporate finance, private equity, venture capital and project financing.

He has a unique knowledge of the Middle East, and although his roles have not been limited to this part of the world, has a track record of working on cross border projects between the Middle East, Europe and the UK.

Tarek’s career has included positions such as CEO of Arab Morgan Grenfell, Arab Bank Investment Company, RiverRock Strategic Capital and senior advisory roles with Deutsche Bank, ABN, RBS and Nomura Securities as well as an Associate Partner with Stanhope Capital.

The majority of these assignments have been undertaken through Tarek’s consulting firm, TJK Consultants Ltd, which has operated since 1992 and specialises in advising financial institutions, governments and parastatal entities across a variety of industries.

Tarek holds his current position at Aligned alongside being CEO of TJK Consultants Ltd, and First Strategic Ltd.

Bernard is a highly experienced Executive leader recognised for building board-level strategies, transform functions and turnaround businesses across the global arena.

He holds significant experience in the management of professional services firms, with a core specialism in turnaround and recovery and succession planning for SMEs, family-owned and management businesses.

Bernard held senior positions as Regional Executive Director EMEA at Crowe Global, and previously as a Senior Partner of PwC, responsible for the Corporate Finance activities in Central and Eastern Europe, and then as liaison partner for Africa and the Middle East.

Bernard has served as the first non-American President and Chair of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (USA), the largest society of hospitality consultants in the world. Appointed as Foreign Trade Advisor ( Conseiller du Commerce Exterieur de la France )to advise the French administration on international business affairs.

Bernard is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from Euromed Business School, Marseille. He holds his current position alongside roles as CEO of Perigord Consulting and Non-Executive Director positions

Tom is a Senior Associate at Aligned Capital, alongside working at his role as a Senior Associate at First Strategic, a strategic advisory firm. He primarily works across advisory and deal execution and has worked on complex transactions across the technology, energy and healthcare sectors.

Prior to Aligned and First Strategic, Tom worked as an Associate at RiverRock Strategic Capital, and formerly Virgin Media. Tom has an entrepreneurial background, having started businesses in the technology and retail sectors in the past.

Tom has a First-Class Honours degree in Business Management from Newcastle University.
